Tolu Ekisola is a recent graduate of UC Irvine’s MFA program, currently based in Minneapolis, MN.

Playful, generous, and grounded, Tolu has appeared on many stages across the Twin Cities including Lyric Arts, Theatre in the Round Players, The Ordway, Pantages, Yellow Tree Theatre, Mixed Blood, The Capri, and Open Window Theatre. 

Known her for grounded characters and charismatic presence, Tolu has thrived in the works of Shakespeare (Hamlet, Alls Well That Ends Well, Macbeth, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Julius Caesar), the American contemporary, comedic and dramatic canon (Steele Magnolias, These Shining Lives, The Effect, The Most Spectacularly Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington) and Musical Theatre with starring roles in shows like Sister Act, Avenue Q, Hairspray and LIZZIE The Musical

Currently a Professor of Theatre at Normandale Community College where she teaches acting, voice and movement, musical theatre, and cinema, Tolu has found a a supplimental love in teaching and DEI efforts.
